Kolanu Suresh Netha founded MR Bike Doctor after noticing the same problem play out again and again: riders who wanted their bikes serviced but simply couldn’t find the time to visit a workshop, wait around, and go back later to collect it. Local mechanics would regularly get calls asking if someone could just come and pick the bike up instead — a request the traditional service-centre model was never built to handle.
Rather than treat that as an inconvenience to work around, he saw it as a sign that bike servicing needed to be rebuilt around the customer’s side of the experience. That meant designing a service around pickup, doorstep visits, transparent pricing, and real-time updates — all coordinated through a single app — instead of asking riders to adapt to how workshops have always run.
As founder, his focus stays on the parts of the experience customers actually feel: how easy it is to book a service, how clearly progress is communicated, and how much they can trust what they’re being charged for. MR Bike Doctor is built on the belief that good service and good technology shouldn’t be a trade-off — riders should get both.
Why MR Bike Doctor Was Created
The idea for MR Bike Doctor didn’t come from a business plan — it came from a pattern that kept repeating. Bike owners with jobs, families, and full schedules would want their bike serviced, but getting it done meant carving out hours they didn’t have: riding to the workshop, waiting or making a second trip, and hoping the mechanic remembered what needed fixing.
What made it clearer was hearing it from the mechanics’ side too. Customers would call local workshops directly and ask if someone could just come pick the bike up, because going in person wasn’t realistic for them. That request came up often enough that it stopped feeling like an edge case — it was a real, recurring gap between what customers needed and what the existing system offered.
MR Bike Doctor was built to close that gap. If a rider can order food, book a cab, or schedule a home repair from their phone, there was no reason bike servicing had to be the one exception left running on phone calls and walk-ins. That’s the problem this company set out to solve — and it’s still the problem we work on every day.
Vision for India's Bike Service Industry
I want a future where no rider has to plan their day around a trip to the workshop. Bike servicing in India is still largely built on walk-ins, informal trust, and a fair amount of guesswork about pricing and timelines — and I believe technology can change that without losing what already works about a good local mechanic.
My vision for MR Bike Doctor is to bring structure and transparency to an industry that has always run on relationships and word-of-mouth, while keeping the mechanic at the centre of it — not replacing them, but giving them a platform that makes their work visible, verifiable, and easier to trust. As more cities and riders come on board, I want booking a doorstep service to feel as ordinary as booking a cab, with every mechanic on the platform verified and every service backed by a clear digital record.
This is a long-term project. It starts with getting the basics right — reliable pickups, honest invoices, mechanics who show up when they say they will — and builds from there.
Message from Founder
Thank you for trusting MR Bike Doctor with something as practical — and as personal — as your bike. I know a bike isn’t just transport for most people; it’s how they get to work, pick up their kids, or simply move through their day, and handing it over for servicing takes a certain amount of trust.
My commitment to you is simple: we will keep making that easier — easier to book, easier to track, easier to understand what you’re paying for and why. If something isn’t working the way it should, I want to hear about it, because this company only gets better by paying attention to what riders actually experience.
We’re still early in building this, and every rider who chooses MR Bike Doctor helps us understand what to improve next. Thank you for being part of that.
